My dog had a TPLO surgery with Dr. Natt and we had a great experience with the entire team at the surgery center. Our interactions pre- and post-surgery were great and my dog has almost completely healed (currently 11 weeks post-surgery). My dog is also now doing physical therapy and the PT vet commented that she was impressed with the X-rays looking so good, particularly with my dog being 12 years old.
This was my dog's second TPLO, the first at age 10 and the second at age 12. Despite the 2 hours each way drive, I opted to trust this team after reading reviews about Vet Urg Care & Surgery Center, since I had some hesitancies with my local options. I appreciated that Dr. Natt was very open about the discussion of the appropriateness of surgery for my dog's age. He was very thorough in recommendation of cancer pre-screening, due to her age.
I also appreciated staff follow up calls to make sure my dog was okay pre- and post-surgery. Before our initial consultation with Dr. Natt, my dog was having elevated liver enzymes in reaction to medications supplied from a different vet clinic. Dr. Natt was very thorough in testing/retesting liver enzymes through bloodwork and ensuring the values returned to normal before proceeding with the surgery. Between the blood work checks, the recommended cancer pre-screening, and discussions of dog age, I felt Dr. Natt was very thorough in ensuring my dog was able to do the surgery. This treatment made me feel safe in proceeding, despite the risks, thank you!

Dr. Khurmi himself was wonderful. We chose this clinic because of his reputation and were genuinely hopeful it would be a great experience. Unfortunately, the quality of care he provides is overshadowed by an extremely rude and unprofessional front office staff.
For about a month we left messages roughly once a week regarding scheduling our Golden Retriever for a spay procedure and never received a call back. Eventually we were told Dr. Khurmi had been on vacation, and suddenly we were able to schedule the surgery. It would have been helpful if that had been communicated earlier, but at that point we were simply happy to finally get the appointment.
We chose the laparoscopic option because we had read it could be less traumatic and allow for an easier recovery. We were given a price range, and when we dropped our dog off we paid $1,783.94, which was the lower end of the estimate.
When we picked her up, we were told we owed an additional $116.06. The amount itself was no big deal to us. We had already agreed to a cost range and were fully prepared to pay within that range. Out of simple curiosity, we asked what caused the final cost to land at the higher end. The vet tech immediately became defensive and spoke to us in a condescending tone in front of other clients, repeatedly stating that we had agreed to a range rather than simply explaining the difference. We never received a clear answer. While waiting, there were also other clients ahead of us who appeared surprised by additional charges at checkout, so it did not seem like an isolated situation.
The discharge process was also rushed. The vet tech briefly went over the medication but did not clearly review the rest of the post-operative instructions before sending us home with a printed sheet.
Nearly two weeks later the stitches are still clearly visible, so we called the office today to confirm whether they were dissolvable or needed to be removed. I had made a mental note that the instructions mentioned something about sutures being removed around 14 days, as we are approaching that timeframe and I wanted to get them taken out. When I explained that this had not been discussed with us, the staff member responded in a very abrasive tone, repeatedly insisting that we had been sent home with an instruction sheet rather than simply addressing the question.
After requesting the clinical summary earlier to understand the final invoice, I reviewed it again and it actually states “sutures out in 14 days,” which contradicts what we were told on the phone today. As a client and not a veterinarian, I should not have to interpret clinical notes to understand basic post-operative instructions. Clear and consistent guidance is important when you are caring for a pet recovering from surgery. I have since emailed the clinic asking for clarification and am still waiting for confirmation on whether the sutures are dissolvable or need to be removed.
Based on our experience, the front office staff and vet techs could benefit from additional training in client communication and customer service. Pet owners should feel comfortable asking questions without being spoken to in a defensive or dismissive tone.
After reviewing other client feedback and the responses from this business, there appears to be a pattern of defensiveness rather than accountability. Hopefully this situation will be handled differently, but based on those responses I would not be surprised if the reply focuses on defending the clinic rather than addressing the concerns raised.
When you trust someone with your pet’s surgery, professionalism and clear communication should be the standard, not something clients have to fight for.

Our vet is closed Sundays so we brought our older kitty in here who we found out had a large mass in her abdomen area. Be prepared for higher prices as they are an urgent care. We took Bombom home, against their advice, and she passed peacefully at home that night. I just wanted to leave a review for Kristen, the vet tech, who we felt was very personable and communicated openly with us when it came to end of life decisions. Thank you ❤️

Dr Khurmi and the staff at this location are beyond amazing. The clinic is clean and beautiful.
The first time I came here, it was to help with my father’s Sheltie, Finn (the one pictured), who suddenly got lethargic and began experiencing focal seizures. Finn has a lot of genetic complications and other health problems and is a senior, so this was a delicate situation and the doctor and staff were caring and compassionate and gave us updates and options every step of the way. His prognosis was initially not great, however it’s now been 4 months and Finn pulled through with the expert care and treatment he received and he’s back to walking 4 miles a day and living a happy normal life!
Two and a half weeks ago (on my birthday) my own personal heart and soul dog, my husky Koa, began acting lethargic and uninterested in food, treats, and attention all within a small 3 hour window. I called this vet office and apologized stating I may be overreacting but wanted him seen if possible just in case. They told me to bring him in. On the drive in he began to noticeably decline in terms of energy and in the parking lot of the clinic he suddenly collapsed and could not get up. I had to carry him into the clinic and the staff all came over to help. My boy was rushed into x-rays and unfortunately it was discovered he had a cancerous tumor on his spleen that had ruptured and there was not much to be done, so I had to unexpectedly say goodbye to Koa right then and there. To say the staff was comforting during a really hard time is an understatement, they were so compassionate and allowed me time to say goodbye and also gave me hugs and offered their condolences. They made one of the hardest moments of my life bearable, and I will never forget the care they gave me and my boy.
I cannot recommend this place enough. They are wonderful and they truly, truly care for their animal patients and you can tell they love their job. It shows.
Thank you for all you’ve done for my family!

My dog was not a patient here but was having a very concerning medical issue so I called to see if they were able to see him, as his regular vet was not available. From the person I spoke to on the phone, to Kristin our vet tech to Dr. Khermie, we could not have been in better hands. The care that we received as a very concerned and nervous family was second only to the kind and thorough care my dog received. I wish they could be his primary care vet. Happily, my dog will be ok, but I was able to breathe a little easier in a stressful situation because I was met wtih love, patience, professionalism and even a hug from Dr. Khermie. I cannot thank the team here more. Hopefully we won't be back but I am relieved knowing that this place exists should we ever need them again.
