We just moved here and needed our dog's annual check up and shots. Making an appointment was easy. When we arrived they were wonderful. The techs were so nice and helpful. Dr. Jerge was very patient with my dogs during the exam. We weren't able to get our pet records from our other vet so they helped us through the process of ensuring our dogs had what they needed. The welcome deal was a good deal on the first exam, and the extra costs were expected as all vets charge this way. Thank you for making a stressful situation not so stressful. Blade, Aluna, and family.

South Sacramento Pet hospital is a good place to bring your fur babies to. They are Acredited and they love and care for the animals and you can tell they are sincere and passionate about their jobs. They have puppy packages and different deals for pricing options and are a good place to take your pet(s).

Jason at the front desk needs training and they already know this . Amanda is clearly aware of the incompetence of this office. Filling my pets meds are like pulling teeth with a blind fold on. The female traveling doctor is rude and insecure with the red hair. The male doctor was a smidge nicer. One star overall. Amanda is nice. I miss Julianna.

They charged close to $1,000 for series of tests on my cat that they didn’t complete, and then they tried to charge me an additional $150 to complete a part of the test they had just finished telling me wasn’t necessary. Neither the staff nor the vet could seem to agree on when the results will be ready, which parts of the test had been done or would be done, when I would need to come in for the parts of the tests they left unfinished. At one point the vet even suggested that he only offered the series of tests because the clinic got some kind of bulk discount from the laboratory they sent them to, which would go a long way to explaining why he wanted to do a senior cat exam on a 5-year-old cat. On the way home I realized that nobody there had told me when I could expect to get any of my cat's results back. I called to ask and it went to voicemail. In theory the vet promised a refund for the tests they were unwilling or unable to finish today. I doubt they will honor that promise. EDIT on 3/12/26: Per a phone call with someone claiming to be the manager here, the vet managed to do exactly zero (0) tests on my cat, which makes their initial offer to refund HALF of the costs they charged me even more suspect. They claim to have issued a refund for everything but the examination fee (which is fair, they did examine my cat). Maybe they have and I simply haven’t seen it hit my account yet, but I remain skeptical. I’m also curious who wrote their response, given that the manager I spoke to claimed to have issued a refund. I don’t use the words “fraud” and “malpractice” lightly, and I hope I do not have to use them here. Crossing my fingers and hoping they actually did issue a refund.

I was once impressed with this place but after years of being a ‘client’ im left disgusted with how they conduct business. You can never call them, they promise things they don’t intend on doing and they aren’t proactive with their patients. Overall they’re just not the type of veterinarian I feel safe overviewing the health of my pet.
