Unprofessional, unempathetic, no compassion and unwilling to help, even in the smallest of ways.
I was scheduled to bring my dog in for a vaccination that's needed to attend training with my dog. Unfortunately I am disabled and due to this disability, I was not able to take my pooch in myself and needed to send my spouse in my stead.
He scoops up our dog from home after just having gotten home from work, hops in the car to go to this VCA location, calls the clinic to let them know he's going to be 12 minutes late but was almost there. The front desk informs him of their " 10 minute late policy " and at their discretion, the appointment would have to be rescheduled. No asking what would make him 2 minutes over time. Front desk had the opportunity to tell the caller to just turn back around, at her discretion, she would be rescheduling the appointment - but does not state or do so.
My spouse walks in with our dog, to an empty lobby, front desk having not a care in the world about 1) not being slammed enough to need and hard press the need to reschedule an appointment, 2) communication is limited primarily to the clinic worker and disregard what the customer is conveying, and 3) no empathy or compassion towards a medical necessity.
With that, I have taken my 3 animals plus this animal to VCA for years, those 3 animals have since passed away and this current animal is newer, and not once has my family been treated this way.
We chose to go to a vet clinic we have not yet gone to before. Even with the price being a little higher, being 3 minutes over the 10 minutes late and ASKED what my reason for being late was, we were still treated with compassion and empathy, still taken in for our appointment regardless of people already being there and a few coming in after us, no problem was made by the clinic.
Training is needed for staff who work here.

Dr. Julian is amazing! Our 90lb puppy can be unruly and he loved Dr. Julian! The whole team at VCA was really awesome! They were able to get our pup in right away and it didn't cost an arm and a leg. We're very happy to have found our new vet.

Found a litter of 5 kittens and needed info. This is the 3rd place I called, all with similar pricing for exams and shots. Although A little too expensive, not other place offered to give me another number or place with low cost help. They don't care about the money, they care about your pet. Angela went above and beyond to help me not only get pricing and info, but made sure that if it was money that was the issue, other options were still available. No other place did that for me today. Would bring my animals here without a second thought thanks to Angela's compassion. Thanks again, your great at your job!!

I would avoid this VCA, new patient, unaware of 24 hr lead for RX, calling on a Friday morning at 8AM before the office being closed for two days. Receptionist would not help, would not do a thing to expedite to person that fills RX and was absolutely indignant. The front desk is the front line of a practice and this is not a way to maintain relationships, poor business practices. When asked to speak to a vet, was told my vet would be in next week and there was no vet there! Perhaps she forgot that I mentioned it was time sensitive. Problem solving for patients should be of the utmost importance. I doesn’t matter what talent they might have in the back if the front desk refuses to listen and be helpful!

This was our first visit to the Sunset VCA Animal Hospital.
We were able to book an appointment for our dog Maui
the same day because we felt like we had an emergency, and they offered to get us in instead of having to go to the emergency room hospital.
Dr. Harmon, our nurse and the rest of the
I took medicine staff were incredibly helpful and served us very quickly and promptly when we got there. Law Riviera animal Hospital is two minutes from our house, but they were booked For a weeks in advance. Maybe we found a new home for our pet, even though this location is 25 minutes away from our house.
