If you are looking for a compassionate and not overpriced vet in Davis, West Davis and South Davis provide excellent care! We have taken our cat here for years, and pretty frequently in the last few years due to her GI lymphoma. We have seen a variety of vets (and techs!), and they have all been fantastic and clearly cared about Bea. This is especially impressive given she hated being handled and gabapentin barely slowed her down when she was mad. She was on a lot of medications around the end, and refilling with them or getting a refill sent to Parkside was always quick and pleasant. Bea ended up needing a feeding tube put in at UC Davis, and West Davis was fantastic about getting us seen quickly about tube placement concerns and fixing the issue they found. Dr. Brown took plenty of time to help answer the loads of questions I had and figure out the best options for Bea's comfort. Unfortunately, Bea could not bounce back from her illness, and West Davis fit us in same-day to end her suffering. They were warm and offered us as much alone time as we needed, and even sent a card signed by the staff with stamps of Bea's paws the following week, which we are incredibly grateful for
I’ve been a west Davis & south davis vet client for many years, with many canines & a wide variety of issues that they’ve dealt with. They have dealt with every issue with care, efficiency & professionalism. When my bestest boy passed away last year, west Davis vet was really empathetic and sweet. I received a card in the mail with his vet profile picture and a sweet note from staff. To me that’s above and beyond patient care. It meant so much to me receiving heartfelt words and seeing his little face. Thank you for making the worst experiences even a little brighter and taking care of our animals with such love.
i've gone to tons of vets living in different cities over the years and can tell you this is a place that is thoughtful and higher level of expertise (helpful being so near UC Davis Vet School). They have a separate cat entrance, I've gotten same day appointments, my vet even thought to rule out cases for me and would find me places I could save money where I could.
Great availability and I think their advice and prices are fair. I think they quote what needs to be done, and don’t throw in expensive extras. I trust them to care for my cat. She also peed on her bed and they gave us a clean towel to replace it.
Vets and technicians are friendly, professional and great with dogs including an intimidating German shepherd. Recently the visit was for a quality of life. Sadly it was time to say goodbye to our well loved old lab. They came to the house and with care and consideration aided us through the difficult time.
